DIRECTOR’S NOTE
Back in the summer of 2022 I was asked to play “Lexie,” a very self-involved and ego-centric character in the play The Sweet Delilah Swim Club at the Adobe Theater, directed by Georgia Athearn. It was during the rehearsal process and run of this play that I became acquainted with the authors, Jones Hope Wooten, and the wonderful women that made up this cast. Because the Adobe has produced so many plays by of these authors, Jessie Jones and Jamie Wooten, (sadly Nicholas Hope passed away the past fall) came to Albuquerque In April 2023) and paid the Adobe a visit. I was fortunate to be among the audience and got to meet them. When I was asked if I would like to direct Always A Bridesmaid, all I had to hear was “It’s like “Sweet Delilah“and I knew I would love it. After reading the script (and giggling out loud while doing so) I was hooked. I hope you enjoy and relate to this hysterical play as I have. Have a wonderful evening!
